Gate Geek – The Stargate Universe Opens
And now, we give you concept art for the upcoming Stargate Universe series. Thankfully, they seem to be staying away from designs that suggest Beverly Hills; hopefully reinforcing their reassurances that the unfortunately-phrased initial press release will not result in Stargate 90210.
In other Gate news, Gateworld nabs interviews with Corin Nemec (aka Jonas Quinn) and Colin Cunningham (Major Davis).
Colin is promoting his film short Centigrade, which is now available on iTunes. I got to see it at Dragon*Con. It is seriously creepy and intense. I’d highly recommend it; especially for those who enjoyed the darker Twilight Zone and Outer Limit stories.
Vulcan? Is that you? – Trek planet discovered?

In the more geeky movie news, actor Chris Pine is apparently going to spare us the William Shatner imitation in the upcoming film. (Thank goodness.)
And in other news to help us all sleep easy, uber-geek Kevin Smith has seen the film and is giving it glowing reviews.

Good news for Matthew Stover fans
E-books of Heroes Die and Blade of Tyshalle, his first two Caine novels (currently out of print) have been given a tentative release date of November 4th.
In The Old Republic, size does matter
Lest we forget that teenagers are king when it comes to Star Wars, io9 found a lovely gem of a quote indicating that the size of a player’s lightsaber (among other things) will grow with the amount of hours they’ve sunk into the game. Charming, no?
