Bujold Guest Blogs – New Vorkosigan Confirmed Again
Bibliophile and (former?) Stargate Atlantis producer Joe Mallozzi recently convinced Lois McMaster Bujold to come answer questions on his blog after her book Cordelia’s Honor was selected as one of his Books of the Month. (A large percentage of CJers are rather insane for this woman’s writing.)
Interesting insights into the Vorkosigan and Chalion sagas. And she confirmed, again, that she’s working on another Vorkosigan book for 2010. Yays!
GateGeek – So long, Atlantis, and thanks for the Wraith
The ugly rumors racing around the net yesterday have turned out to be true: Stargate Atlantis will end its run with its fifth season.
Even though the “+7” numbers (live viewings, plus DVRs, etc.) have consistently run higher, SciFi apparently prefers its “live” numbers to be the deciding factor. And Stargate has never been good at that. (Thanks a lot, techno-geeks!)

Not that SciFi has ever responded to that….

Wear a blaster on a chain
This blaster pendant by Han Cholo is pricey – but pretty nifty. (Also: a classic raygun and space invader.)
Jackson to co-write Hobbit!
Peter Jackson is joining Guillermo del Toro and LOTR vets Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens to write the scripts for the upcoming Hobbit movies. Woot!
Naked Harry not a factor
Daniel Radcliffe going the full monty on Broadway in Equus was not the reason for the postponement of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. At least according to a statement from Warner Bros. President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Horn. Whatever the reason, it still stinks.

Real-life moisture vaporators?
Gizmodo spotted these Intelligent Monitoring Towers recently installed in Buenos Aires. Their intention is to measure air and noise quality, but is it really that far a jump to consider them collecting moisture on Tatooine? Or at least hanging out in the general vicinity?
