From 30 Rock: “Tell it to me in Star Wars!”
Book schedule changes and updates
Was checking up on our book schedule last night, and noticed that the release date for the third Coruscant Nights novel, Patterns of the Force, has been pushed back to January 27th – more than understandable given Michael Reaves’ health issues, so hold the bitching.
Happier news comes in the form of two paperback reprints – Death Star is set for November 11th, and Darth Bane: Rule of Two for October 28.
Our Star Wars book release schedule has been thus updated.
Comics from the future: August solicitations
Rebelscum has Dark Horse’s August solicitations, including Legacy #27, Knights of the Old Republic #32, Rebellion #16 aka Vector part 8, plus a new ‘Early Victories’ omnibus containing old-school 90’s minis such as Vader’s Quest and the Splinter of the Mind’s Eye adaption.
The biggest surprise is perhaps the first new Clone Wars quarterly, Shipyards of Doom, scripted by the show’s head writer Henry Gilroy.
Video: The Clone Wars trailer
I haven’t a clue why the new The Clone Wars trailer that aired yesterday isn’t up at starwars.com yet, but you can watch it (clearly, without Polish) online now thanks to io9.
UPDATE: And they probably got it from Yahoo, where you can nab the HD version. (Thanks, Corran Fett!)
UPDATE 2: And now it’s on StarWars.com, which also got a bit of an index makeover.
UPDATE 3: Embedded!
An early look at Last Hope for the Galaxy
The folks at Swbooks.co.uk (via) spotted a cover for Luke Skywalker, Last Hope for the Galaxy at Amazon.
It’s somewhat similar to the 30th anniversary collection covers, and features the same Tsuneo Sanda artwork used in the solicitation and at the book’s listing on DarkHorse.com. Check it out under the cut! Continue reading “An early look at Last Hope for the Galaxy“
The EU minute: Japan, Thrawn, Denning
- New cover from Japan, Timothy Zahn’s Allegiance, over at the Japanese cover gallery. There’s a new Last of the Jedi one up as well. Death Star expected soon, no word on LOTF… (via)
- Thrawn (and Ackbar) get a little love over at io9’s list of greatest space strategists.
- TFN reports that author Troy Denning will be on the Philadelphia-area radio show To Be Continued this Sunday.
BBC goes after Doctor Who knitting patterns
Yes, seriously, knitting patterns. Which were free. Although it appears someone, not the originator (who was “furious” over that development) was selling them. Hmm. (via)

New Dark Horse editor’s letter sheds light on staffing changes, The Clone Wars, TFU offerings
Randy Stradley updates fans on what’s going on at the comic licensee in the latest From the Editor. As previously reported on their boards, editor Jeremy Barlow has moved on to freelance writing – and Stradley implies that he’s working on something that we’ll here about “in a future Zone.” Dave Marshall has stepped in to fill the gap, and Ms. Freddye Lins is replacing him as assistant editor.
Meanwhile, we learn that a The Force Unleashed graphic novel is coming in August, and Dark Horse will be serving The Clone Wars with a quarterly digest and monthly comic series. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the upcoming uber-digest Luke Skywalker, Last Hope for the Galaxy.
