TV News? A Jedi craves not these things

‘Tis the season for fun TV announcements. Is it the fall season yet?

Ripper has supposedly passed one more small hurdle towards becoming reality
Kevin Smith attempts to cover all branches of geekdom by directing an episode of Battlestar Galactica, an episode of Heroes: Origins, and the pilot for Reaper. Does the man ever sleep?
David Tennant is staying with Dr. Who
– Genre actors get some props as scene-stealers
– And “Watch With Kristin” gets a sneak peek at some of the folks passing through the island on Lost

This Week’s Gate Goodness

I’m back! Catching up on all the TV news after a sad, migraine-induced delay. Let us see what we missed in the world of Stargate.

GateWorld reveals the pretty that is the Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series box set. (Y’know, the one with those extras that those of us who collected through the years can’t get without buying this box set? The one we are so not bitter about?)
– Stargate Atlantis producer Joe Mallozzi continues to post pictures and teasers about upcoming storylines on his blog. You’re missing out if you’re not reading!
David Hewlett talks Season 4 with TV Zone (as teased by GateWorld and SyFyPortal).
TV Zone also has an interview with SG1 director Martin Wood on the joys of filming in the Artic.
– Back to David Hewlett and his teasing, he posted a “dramatic” reading (supposedly the first of a series) of a favorite line from Season 4.

Stargate news from DragonCon probably won’t be posted until next week, unless I manage to find Dunc and blog on her laptop.

Maxi-big, the Dragon*Con!

The Dragon*Con schedule was released last week… (Direct link to 2.4M PDF.) The ‘Matters of the Force’ track is on pages 46 and 47 of the PDF (and separated by what will be, in the actual program book, a pull-out.) You also might want to check out the autograph sessions (20-21,) readings (34-36) and the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Literature track (39-41) for several familiar names.

In the bad news category… Aaron Allston is no longer attending, prompting rampant sadfacing among the attending CJers.
