The Next Busiest Guy in Geekdom

TV Guide interviews Michael Shanks who talks about his and his wife’s upcoming roles in Eureka, the Stargate movies and keeping fingers crossed on Christopher Judge‘s new series, Rage of Angels, that has been given the “verbal go-ahead” from MGM.

(Of amusing note to the shipper population, the article accidentally refers to Michael’s Stargate character as Daniel Carter.)

Apparently Kevin Smith’s quest to be the busiest man in geekdom has fallen apart.

SyFy Portal reports that the director was unable to make his schedule sync with the show’s production schedule.

Chewbacca hands saber over to NASA

The Wookiee and several of his costumed friends presented NASA officials with the Skywalker lightsaber today at Oakland International Airport. The lightsaber will be met in Houston by the R2-D2, the 501st and a police escort who will accompany it to NASA

Another step to Red Tails

Variety reports that George Lucas has hired John Ridley to write Red Tails. The film is about WWII’s Tuskegee Airmen and has often been mentioned as a future project by Lucas.

Rick McCallum is also on board as co-producer with Charles Floyd Johnson.

Time to Study for Heroes

Heroes Season 2 is rapidly approaching. NBC launched a teaser site yesterday for the Japanese-influenced storyline with the first in a series of mockumentaries on Takezo Kinsei; the sword master whose story will be a major plot in this new season.
