Rian Johnson tells Collider about some of The Last Jedi’s deleted scenes, including a chunk from Rose and Finn’s storyline, and another featuring Rey and Luke. He says all the major ones will be on the Blu-ray. (I’m just guessing re: the photo above, but hey… We didn’t see that in the movie, did we?)
It’s not a lot, but this is our most new stuff in one dosage since the actual trailer, I think.
Just ahead of the trailer (SOON,) we get the theatrical poster reveal. Head under the cut for the whole thing.
The second wave of Forces of Destiny will begin with two half-hour specials on the Disney Channel and Disney Channel app. The first will debut Sunday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m., followed by the second on October 29 at 8:00pm. They’ll appear on Disney’s Youtube after the specials, a departure from the first wave, which debuted online.
Today’s first Entertainment Weekly story tweaks Rey’s parentage, which may not be the bombshell some are hoping for. “You can always look for answers and that doesn’t mean that the rest of your life is so easy. It’s not like, oh, I know who my parents are so now everything falls into shape, especially in the Star Wars world,” Daisy Ridley says.
“There’s always room for bad people to make good decisions and vice versa,” she says later.
Finn’s background will also be explored, although more on the recent end of things – his time in the First Order, since we know he’s going undercover there with Rose – than his early life.
The final article is a bit of a grab-bag, covering Kylo Ren, Han Solo’s (figurative!) ghost, Chewbacca, Captain Phasma, and Maz Kanata.
The Last Jedi covers Entertainment Weekly’s Fall Movie Preview, and we’ve got a week of stories ahead of us as they ramp up the hype for the December film.
There’s a fresh leak of The Last Jedi publicity photos out in the wild. They look like unretouched studio shots, and we’ve seen the polished versions of a few already in the wild via book covers, toys and the like… I’d say the actual spoiler content here is mild at best, but they do confirm a few recent Making Star Wars reports.
Sadly, no porgs.
UPDATE: That didn’t last long!
It’s here! The behind-the-scenes reel for The Last Jedi gives us a peek at the production, and a LOT of new things, or at least, things we’ve heard about…
