Movie News: Americas Next Big SuperFlop

Who are those guys in the back again? The big news this week seems to IESB’s report that a Justice League of America movie has been fast-tracked by Warner Bros. Ryan Reynolds has been talking up The Flash, but Christian Bale pleads ignorance. A Justice League without Batman? The fanboys will love it!

Michael Bay’s hissyfits, let me show you them

Neil Gaiman and the demigods of geekdom

Stardust may not be out yet, but it’s certainly getting its share of hype. It’s currently getting a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (from only five reviews, granted) but Neil Gaiman is everywhere.

The Rumor mill

Movie News: Indy, Batman, Supes, Drew

Sean Connery ‘considering’ Indy IV. Speaking of sorta maybe Indy stuff, be warned that Indy rumor-ridden young actor Shia LaBeouf will be hosting this Saturday’s Saturday Night Live. Indiana Jones jokes are likely!

In other rumor news, could Orlando Bloom be considering a role in the sequel to Superman Returns? I’m not feeling it.

Harvey Dent is appearing in The Dark Knight but his alter ego Two-Face is less likely.

And enough about that – I both kind of want to see and yet dread the Nancy Drew movie, but here’s some pictures to get the preteens excited.

And lastly The Voyage of the Dawn Treader may have found a director. Don’t screw it up, Hollywood – it’s my favorite. (Irony!)

Video Monday: What’s a Nubian?

The highlight of this week’s Youtube adventure was the entire Kevin Smith hosted episode of Party for Five, featuring Jason Lee, Stan Lee, Mark Hamill and JJ Abrams: part I, part II, part III. Part II is where the Star Wars stuff is: Hamill also talks about his Batman voice work in the third. I suggest watching the whole thing, though.

I love Kevin Smith movies, but this scene is the only part of Chasing Amy you’ll ever need to see. And I still haven’t seen Clerks 2, but here’s the Star Wars vs. Lord of the Rings scene (with Marshall from Alias!) And, what the hell – I know you want to see Cocknocker. Or just go for the digest version. If you need me to tell you that none of these clips should be watched in mundane public due to language, please turn in your geek card.

Movie News: Loose ends and WTFery

Bryan Singer will make another Superman movie. By the time it comes out, Superman Returns might even earn back it’s budget.

This has nothing to do with anything except that I used to have a weird crush on Jack Black – the trailer for Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny And if you’re cool with Tenacious D, I bet you’re jumping out windows in excitment for another Harold & Kumar movie.

They’re remaking Revenge of the Nerds? And the Fanboys dude is directing? Oye vey…
