We got our first look and additional cast and crew for Gareth Edward’s Rogue One at D23 today. In addition to Felicity Jones, who was announced previously, the Lucasfilm confirms rumors of Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker. They also added Hannibals’ Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk (Firefly, A Knight’s Tale) whose role is performance-capture.

Additionally, it appears that the ‘Anthology’ branding has been somewhat dropped: The official logo for the film now says “A Star Wars Story.”

    1. Yeah, you’d think after last time… Well. Still, it’s not just a bunch of white dudes, that’s hopeful.

Tudyk’s mo-cap role is likely an alien.

  1. Doesn’t really look like Star Wars from this picture too me. I thought it was a pic for another Marvel superhero movie.

    1. I think they’re deliberately going for something different to set it apart from the Episodes. Plus, at this point, it’s really just playing to people who are already neck-deep in Star Wars. I have no doubt that when the actual marketing starts, we’re going to see a lot of the Death Star and other recognizable stuff.
