Open Thread: Fall Book Releases

I was at the bookstore today, and noticed two of fall’s big fantasy releases are already out: Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys and Robin Hobb’s Shaman’s Crossing. Coming out next Tuesday is Gregory Maguire’s Son of a Witch and the latest SW novel.

Also coming out soon is George R. R. Martin’s long-awaited A Feast for Crows, and – surprise! – yet another Wheel of Time book from Robert Jordan.

Star Wars aside, what fall releases are you most looking forward to?

  1. I’m looking forward to

    Thud!

the 30th (wow) book in Pratchett’s Discworld series… IMHO some of these later books in the series have been so-so, but really, it’s another Night Watch book, and you can hardly go wrong with Vimes, Carrot, Littlebottom, Angua, et al. :)

  2. Star Wars aside? Um….

Okay, this fall, novels based on the show 24 will be released. I’ll probably check out those.

(but seriously, I can’t wait for The Unseen Queen. Just a couple of days left!)

  3. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the new Connie Willis novel, though this has proven to be a bit difficult as Borders and B&N both don’t show the book as being available. May just have to bite the bullet and pick it up through Amazon which does have it available.

And the next novel in the Dark Nest series.

  4. I am looking forward to reading At All Costs by David Weber. I plan to read Knife of Dreams eventually, but I have to get through the other books first. So many books, so little time :)
