Is it time for Del Rey to bring back Stackpole?

It’s been just over 11 years since the release of Dark Tide: Ruin, Michael Stackpole’s last Star Wars novel. With a new X-Wing novel by Aaron Allston on schedule for next spring, naturally thoughts have turned to thoughts of seeing Stackpole return. As many of us witnessed at Dragon*Con last weekend, he still has his share of fans – right up there with Allston and Timothy Zahn, both of who have been steadily producing Star Wars novels over the past few years.

‘Will you return to Star Wars was one of the top questions he was asked at the con, and some dedicated fans have started a petition. Want to go on record? Now’s the time.

  1. So would I. I know that Stackpole takes some flack for making most of his characters sound the same, but he’s almost always produced enjoyable, well paced stories. And what can I say? I’m a sucker for franchise authors who are willing to focus on minor or original characters for the most part.

  2. I, Jedi is one of THE BEST Star Wars novels ever! When people ask me what to read, I always say that is a must read. Hope he comes back, would love to read it!

  3. Thank you! I’ve been wanting Mike Stackpole to write more Star Wars since…well…since he wrote his last SW novel. So glad to see others speaking out in support of the idea. All we can do is voice our opinions, but it’s a start!
