First look at the cover for Making of Return of the Jedi

Making of the Return of the Jedi

Entertainment Weekly has revealed the cover for J.W. Rinzler’s The Making of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, along with 5 ‘unseen’ pics that are probably not all that unseen if you’ve been paying any attention throughout the years. (Though I admit the shot with Harrison Ford and George Lucas is not quite as familiar as the others.)

The book’s release date has also moved up a week to October 1!

In more upcoming upcoming releases, Hollywood.com has an excerpt and a look at the cover art process for next week’s novel Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void.

  1. Actually, the one of Harrison and George is the one I recognized the most. The ones Mark/Prowse & Mark/Carrie look like slight variations on shots that are already out there.

Can’t wait for this one. Is it just me, or is this the film we actually know the least about? Yes, despite the documentary “From SW to Jedi” I feel like this is the least-well documented.

  2. Well, that’s the only one I haven’t seen approximately a billion times on Tumblr, then. ;)

  3. I have really loved this series. It’s a real master class on Star Wars.

But I have to admit to loving the less academic pictures the most. :)

  4. I was super excited and then realized I had them all in several different sizes and scans. It makes sense though, it isn’t like most people would have see them, especially the EW audience.

I really can’t wait for this book. Rinzler’s books and Pablo’s hardbacks are the only books I’m keeping when I move to Detroit this Summer to start teaching. I have to give a lot up, but those books I’m shipping out there. They’re just too cool to not revisit annually.
