Chuck Wendig on why he highlights all those homophobic Aftermath reviews

jtfa-aftermath-crop900Since the book’s release, Chuck Wendig has been regularly featuring Aftermath reviews that object to the book containing gay and lesbian characters. (Some examples, oh my god so many examples, people are ridiculous.)

Today, he explained why.

  1. It’s really a bummer that in a world of laser swords and space wizards, gay people are a problem.

  2. This makes me like him more and more. I only just read the book, and barely noticed there were gay character(s)?

  3. @Nic: According to some people, that was the problem! I heard a lot of complaints along the lines of “what’s even the point of making the characters gay if it’s not important to the story?”.

    Because of course, gay people are only allowed to exist when they constantly remind us of their sexuality. :rolls eyes:
