From the blog Dogs in Duds, a picture of a terrier in a Yoda costume. And wait, there’s more! Although any pet owner will tell you it’s cats, not dogs, who exhibit the true attitude of the Sith…
One midget away from a David Lynch production
V for Vendetta in Fifteen Minutes. You know you want it.
We should really get a new tape.
Article on Canadian teen who sued school district for letting him be bullied mentions lawsuit filed by Ghyslain Raza, the “Star Wars Kid,” against classmates who allegedly put the video online. The case will be heard on April 10.
Adventures in Audiocasting
Latest audiocast (Hyperspace members only) is a look at Star Wars publishing and an interview with Troy Denning.
Mostly it’s a short interview by Jacob Bronstein, executive producer of SW audiobooks, with a few clips from the Dark Nest audiobooks.
Troy talks at length about the Killiks – from inspiration to whether he’s really a bug-lover; putting characters in mortal danger (surprise suprise, he enjoys it;) and who he considers the coolest characters. (The answer may surprise you.)
Overall, the interview was interesting enough. I could really have done without the audiobook clips, though. I can’t stand the things: they get way too melodramatic, and the heavy descriptive passages read outloud are… vexing. I don’t know if this series will be worth getting Hyperspace for, but if you have it already, it can’t hurt to try. Especially if you have a much higher audiobook tolerance than me.
Sith on HBO, ANH audiocast
According to a Variety article (Hyperspace members only) HBO has picked up the rights to run Revenge of the Sith as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, King Kong, Batman Begins and several other of last year’s big grossers.
Also on Hyperspace, audiocast interviews with the cast of A New Hope.
Slashing Action
Brokeback Mountain Action Figures: Like 12-inch versions of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon haven’t been getting it on for years. Still, you have to admire the fan’s dedication to actually make the figures and sculpt their clothes. Alas, there’s no Jedi in Jack and Ennis.
A sleazy joint?
Karen Traviss has a long article on writing media tie-ins at Emerald City, along with an interview at Strange Horizons. (via SF Signal, who have some of their own thoughts on tie-ins.)
It probably goes without saying that CJ is pretty positive on the tie-ins. We might not like everything (see the fanfic section) but we’re for them.
