You’ll hear Yoda in the next episode of Rebels

Muppet Yoda is not impressed.

Yoda, as voiced by Frank Oz, to appear on Rebels, TV Guide reveals today. Alrightly then. There won’t be a physical appearance, but you’ll hear his voice in the show’s next episode:

“I felt personally to keep Yoda as this disembodied thing it would confuse the audience less,” says executive producer Dave Filoni, who also directed the installment. “I didn’t want you to think Yoda could be teleporting from planet to planet.”

Rebels returns from hiatus with ‘Path of the Jedi’ on January 5th.

Rebels to marathon on the Disney Channel and Disney XD this weekend

star-wars-rebels-trailerThe Disney Channel will run every episode of Rebels so far on Saturday, beginning at 11:20 a.m. They’ll run on Disney XD beginning at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. Sunday, concluding with ‘Inside The Force Awakens’ Sunday. It doesn’t have an actual slot on the schedule, so I wouldn’t expect anything in-depth.

Rumors: Will the next cartoon skip straight to the sequel era?

rumors-swirl-sw-oot/Film today says that plans are already in the works for a post-Rebels series set during the sequel era and starring all-new characters. Not a tough call, though I am rather suprised that they’d skip right over the thirty years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, which is what I called for the next cartoon right after we learned about Rebels. (Not to mention that Reclamation thing that popped up back in 2013.) Still, we don’t know what the new movies will bring – or maybe they’ll leave the gap era to books and comics, for old time’s sake? Something to chew on, in any case.
