The Her Universe Fashion Show is getting a streaming reality show next year. The company held their second fashion show featuring fan’s designs last night at SDCC.
Her Universe celebrates their 5th anniversary on Monday, and they’re celebrating with free gifts, product rereleases and a livestream!
The returning products are the burnout and Empire poster tees and the Manga hoodie, above.
Her Universe revealed their new products for Celebration Anaheim today. There’s a lightsaber shirt, multiple dresses, tees, a new bag, and cupcakes. “A different daily Star Wars themed cupcake available at Salacious Crumb’s Cupcake Bake Shop” in their booth. The “Ahsoka Lives” tee will be exclusive to the con.
We saw their new jewelry yesterday, but today brings a handful of new clothing items to Her Universe. There’s the Symbol Pattern cardigan, a Darth Vader Knit Pattern dress and a new logo tee – all available in plus sizes as well. And there are new Marvel, Star Trek, Walking Dead and Doctor Who items as well.
There are several new pieces of jewelry on the Her Universe site today, mostly Vader-related.
The framing of this Fortune story on David Eckstein and Her Universe seemed odd, until I realized it’s part of a series (in collaboration with Sports Illustrated) that profiles athletes who’ve moved into business careers. In any case, we learn a few things about HU: that they expect to bring in $5 million in sales this year, and the company is profitable. Phew. (via)
Pictures from the Her Universe Geek Couture Fashion Show. Popsugar has clear looks t most of the fashions from last night’s show at SDCC.
Our very own JJ – JawaJames – is at San Diego Comic-Con, and he’s now shared his pictures from Thursday, including the con floor, the Rebels panel, and a few things pre-screening. Amy Ratcliffe had a few thoughts on the screening for IGN, but all I’m seeing on Twitter this morning is praise – even from folks who couldn’t get into The Clone Wars.
Also last night was the Her Universe fashion show – of course, it happened at the same time as the Rebels panel. Tricia collected some tweets and things, and here’s our own Caitlin in her Padme dress. The winners were the ladies of the Back to the Future and Once Upon a Time dresses. And the new Her Universe licensee is Studio Ghibli, which I admit I never would have guessed. A Totoro dress is coming. I expect we’ll hear more today.
The big ticket for Star Wars today – for our purposes, anyway – is the Del Rey book panel (2 p.m. PDT, 5 p.m. EDT) but Hasbro is up at noon PDT/3:00 EDT so there’ll be a lot of toy news coming up as well.
Her Universe rolls out new Transformers line. Four shirts, two dresses and a pair of leggings.
And the second new Her Universe licensee is… Transformers? Looks like we’ll get a closer look on Thursday. Does this one excite you at all? Because I feel a resounding sense of ‘meh.’
