EUbits: The Atlas, Dynasty of Evil, Holostar and… things

August 20th, 2009 by Dunc · 1 Comment

Essential Atlas: Suvudu has a multi-part video interview with Jason Fry and Dan Wallace about this week’s release… And if you still want to know more, there’s a live chat scheduled for September 2.

Darth Bane: Take a peek at the blurb and final cover for Drew Karpyshyn’s Dynasty of Evil. Let me mention again how very, very grateful I am to see John Jude Palencar back on cover duty for this storyline.

A Padawan’s Journal: Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff on What Comes After Chapter One and Reality is in the Nuts and Bolts.

The blogside: Mandy considers Karen Traviss’ departure in the first of a four-part series.

EUbits: Jaina, Bohnhoff, Legacy, Outcast

July 12th, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments

Something to add to those Episode VII wish lists… Jaina Solo makes io9′s list of the most badass female space pilots of all time. It’s a damn shame we never got anyone in the movies who qualifies…

EUbits: Sansweet’s 1000, Random Clones, Bohnhoff’s plotting and something gamey

May 29th, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments

Nonfiction. Here we have the cover for Star Wars: 1,000 Collectibles. Steve Sansweet and Anne Neumann take us into the depths of Rancho Obi-Wan… Okay, maybe not the depths. Look for it October 1st.

Random. TheForce.Net has some random updates on upcoming books, mostly The Clone Wars kids stuff, which honestly I’m not even trying to keep track of. There is an episode guide that might be of interest to some.

A Padawan’s Journal. Bohnhoff on Plotting the Wily Star Wars Novel and First Impressions.

Games. Another Battlefront on the way. On that note, here’s the Threat of Peace web comic is now on #7.

The catchup: Links from Twitter

March 29th, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments

Here are some of the things I’ve micro-blogged over @clubjade in the past few days.

Vintage Dharma ad by Adam Campbell, AKA hotmeteor @ FlickrDesign! Mockery! Jumpsuits! Vintage Dharma Initiative ads are by Lost fan Adam Campbell and awesome. (via)

Important questions of our time. How does Star Wars end?

The blogside. Author Sarah Zettel on her love/hate relationship with Star Wars.

Bacta! Dutch scientists have created a healing goo based on the liquid that protects embryos in the womb, but they’re calling it “baby butter.” Eww.

Tips. Authors behaving badly is common sense advice from a bookseller.

The fandom minute: Ima Trooping; Scalzi ponders Star Wars 3-D; BOW cake; Yoda’s travels

February 27th, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments

  • Photo fun Adventures in Stormtrooping with a little help from The Simpsons, Cobra Commander, Hellboy and a very naughty Wall-E.

  • The blogside: John Scalzi theorizes that George wants to release Star Wars in 3-D to beat Gone With the Wind in the all-timers. Seems a bit of a reach to me: If that was the case, why all this waiting? Has George seen Coraline?
  • Cake: Bearded Obi-Wan is full of… Strawberry jam? I’m sure there’s a Spaceballs joke in there somewhere.
  • Travels: Yoda sees the world.

EU blogbits: Drew Karpyshyn on Bane #3, TOR; Dan Wallace’s Essential Atlas quotes

February 24th, 2009 by Dunc · 2 Comments

Drew Karpyshyn talks just a wee bit about Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil on his StarWars.com blog… And he’s moving to Austin to help out with that MMO thing Bioware is working on. People seem pretty geeked about that.

In other bloggy news, Dan Wallace has a few quotes from The Essential Atlas, which is still scheduled for a July release.
