Wear Star Wars Every Day: Week 20

This week, #WearStarWarsEveryDay goes to the dark side! The whole week is a showcase of clothing from the 501st Legion, lent by Darth Paul of Imperial Sands Garrison. We’ve got the usual shirts, but also a happi coat from the Japanese Garrison. But no donations to Collateral Repair Project in this week – maybe you can do something about it for next week! This review for Week 20 covers May 13 to May 19 of my wearathon, and an update on fundraising for Collateral Repair Project, a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance, education, and community support to urban refugees.

Did the first poster for The Force Awakens emerge in Japan? Not really.

the-force-awakensThis Japanese Star Wars poster has been floating around social media for a bit now, but it hit the fansites yesterday… Except TheForce.Net’s Eric Geller contacted Lucasfilm, who told him it’s not a poster for TFA, just “use of existing text style for local promotion.”

Honestly, I haven’t thought the poster was that big a deal – even if it was our ‘first poster,’ the only thing it’s showing is the Japanese version of the logo. A curiosity? Sure. But not exactly groundbreaking.

Video: Top Star Wars/Simpson’s moments, plus classic video archive shake down

Sci-Fi Wire counts down the ten greatest Star Wars moments from The Simpson’s. Nothing you probably don’t already remember, but what the hell.

In other videoish news, io9’s Graeme McMillan is way too enamored of this Japanese Disco Star Wars thing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s kind of adorable, but five minutes in the our archives and I can dig up way better than that.

…Maybe I need to make a top ten list of my own.
