FOTJ marketing push continues for Omen
May 21st, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments
Yesterday, NJOE dug up some details on the marketing plan for the second Fate of the Jedi book, Christie Golden’s Omen. It includes an appearance by Christie Golden at San Diego Comic Con and new content on StarWars.com like a live author chat (a first?) and ‘Ben’s Journal’ – which sounds like something in the same vein as the Outcast postcards.
Not quite sure where they got the info, but it’s similar to what’s in the Random House Summer catalog (not yet available on their website, but you can find a PDF here – or see the relevant page under the jump.) Omen and the related publicity info are on page 72. But as you’ll note by the Abyssesque cover image, the catalog info is not necessarily the most up to date, and these things do have a tendency to change. But with the release date of June 23 bearing down, we’ll have news out of StarWars.com one way or another.
(Speaking of, Pablo Hidalgo’s Essential Guide to G.I. JOE is on page 85.) (more…)

These have ‘deliberate leak’ written all over them, so I’m fairly confident they’ll hang around at least through noon. The Youtube versions are gone, but TrailerAddict has these three and more besides. Enjoy! (Star Trek above, G.I. Joe and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen below.)

November 18th, 2008 by Dunc · 6 Comments
Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo is jumping franchise lines to pen The Essential Guide to G.I. Joe, due out next summer. (If you’re surprised, you just haven’t been paying attention.) For tradition’s sake, we can only hope he ends each chapter with some sort of deadly obvious moral. GO JOE!

Joe no!
March 6th, 2007 by Hlynn · Comments Off
Because he didn’t have enough fun making the upcoming Transformers movie, producer Leonardo Di Bonaventura has his sights set on a live-action GI Joe movie.
And in an eighties and nineties pop-culture tie-in, he’s considering Mark Wahlberg for the role of Duke. Does this mean Nikki Cox will be Scarlett?
