SDCC ’09: Family Guy has ‘A Bad Feeling’ about ROTJ

July 25th, 2009 by Dunc · No Comments

Very old Family Guy concept artI saw some inklings of this on Twitter earlier, but thankfully io9 has obliged us in a write-up of the Family Guy panel, where Seth McFarlane and the gang talked about their upcoming ESB parody, ‘Something Something Something Dark Side,’ and revealed the title for their Return of the Jedi spoof, ‘We Have A Bad Feeling About This.’

They hope for ‘Something Something Something Dark Side’ to air by the end of the year.

Family Guy to spoof ST:TNG? Make it so?

March 27th, 2009 by jawajames · 1 Comment

Perhaps not with the fanfare of the Family Guy forays into the Star Wars universe, Seth McFarlane is reuniting the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation onto Family Guy for an upcoming episode. After missing his chance to ask a question of the cast at the Quahog Trek convention, Stewie builds a transporter and kidnaps the cast – and takes them to the drive-thru and bowling, according to this preview and interview clip on FOX. Executive producer David Goodman talks up his favorite bits on io9. The episode, titled ‘Not All Dogs Go To Heaven’, airs on Sunday, March 29, 9 PM (ET/PT), guest starring Patrick Stewart, Levar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes.

Considering that they’ve already finished an Empire parody, Something Something Something Dark Side (airing in the fall,) I don’t think anyone will be taken by surprise by this.

No Emmys for Star Wars spoofs, Carrie Fisher

September 16th, 2008 by Dunc · 1 Comment

Neither Robot Chicken: Star Wars or Family Guy: Blue Harvest picked up Creative Arts Emmys yesterday, losing out to The Simpsons and South Park, respectively. And Carrie Fisher, who was up for her 30 Rock guest spot, lost out to some chick from Desperate Housewives. On the whole, it wasn’t a great night for genre, but Battlestar Galactica did pick up Special Visual Effects for a series.
