I got this $1 bill as change at Celebration IV in 2007. When I came back, I noticed the stamp. Alas – he ended up spending last few years as a bookmark in an unfinished book – so I forgot all about it.
I found him a month or so back, and decided to spend him on the floor at Celebration V. Keep an eye out or enter your own bill at Where’s George before you head out!
Bonnie ran a whole collection of photos through the Tilt Shift Maker, transforming the realistic into toy-like miniatures. Not surprisingly, the effect is particularly impressive when used on Stormtroopers!
io9 includes Darth Vader in The Greatest Art Featuring 6 Iconic Scifi Villains. Some of it is fairly old hat (The Vader Project? So 2007!) but there’s always someone shocked by it. Besides, they have a brand-new spiffy robot chart as a consolation prize for those of us a bit too jaded for our own good.
GenCon has sent out a survey to C4 attendees, and it includes a question about attending C5. I don’t have many doubts that there’ll be a C5, but I gotta agree with TFN: Highly likely! Highly!
A piece of the Opening Ceremonies Birthday cake on eBay. If anyone is stupid enough to bid on this, I might bemoan all the cake that got thrown out… (Thanks to Liz!)
One baby had the coolest ride at CIV – an AT-AT stroller! Now everyone wants one.
Last month’s mega-con had more than 35,000 attendees, making it the biggest Celebration ever.
