Last night’s offering from the official Star Wars Youtube channel. Also worth noting, while we’re here: I’ve been doing movie theme days on our Tumblr this week as a way of clearing out the drafts folder (ANH, ESB and today is ROTJ; TPM starts tomorrow) and since I just added a ton of AOTC stuff to drafts, more than I can ever use in one day, thus maybe defeating the whole purpose of doing movie days in the first place…
(Also, question: Are enough of you not on Tumblr that you’d like to see updates on our themes over there? I have been keeping to it, but I haven’t done anything bigger than a day or two on a single theme in a while so I wasn’t sure if it was worth a post here.)
Alas, change does not happen overnight, at least not when you’re going up against some spectacularly stubborn fanboys. The page’s existence is still up for a vote and a complaint about Darth Culator’s behavior in light of our piece seems to be more or less ignored.
While several of us had some objections with Mike Cooper’s orignal follow-up on the piece, he does have some suggestions today on ways to ‘contribute’ to Wookieepedia’s much-touted attention to pointless detail. I’m not sure it’ll actually do any good in the long run, but it can’t exactly hurt.
In conclusion, a few points from the 2007 vote that ended in an ‘insufficient consensus’ to delete.
…Keeping this article just plays to the worst sort of fanboy stereotype and I don’t think it’s worth the hassles. – Valin Kenobi
Wookieepedia is primarily a resource for people to find out information about Star Wars, yes? If I was thinking “hmmm, who is this Baron Fel guy that everyone keeps talking about?” I could look him up on Wookieepedia. I could read the links in his article and learn all about him, what he’s associated with, and the books he appeared in. Would I ever, though, think to myself “Hmm, what are breasts? To Wookieepedia!” ? Never. – GrandAdmiralJello
As an outsider, if I came across this article, I would basically interpret this article as being evidence of this community’s lack of professionalism and um, ogling fanboyish fanwankery by some members. I can see this now popping up on Chee’s forum over at SW.com “Mr. Chee do breasts have an entry in the Holocron? Because they have an article on Wookieepedia (link).” The eyes would be rolling for the next decade or so. – Atarumaster88
ABC and Disney to give bloggers a look at Rebels on May 4. They’re having a Rebels dinner and exclusive sneak peek as part of their ‘Red Carpet Tailgate Premiere of Million Dollar Arm,’ an upcoming sports film starring John Hamm. Still, expect to hear a bit more about the show after that.
The Hollywood Reporter is on a roll. Tonight, they say Episode VII will film in Abu Dhabi for four weeks beginning in mid-May – something Jedi News was reporting (along with Cairo) last week.
THR thinks it may be home to the ‘new’ Tatooine – but there’s also plenty of modern architecture in Abu Dhabi that could be put to good use as well.
“[Marvel] made my hair into the most incredible well-made wig and they gave it to the Star Wars people. It’s just so funny to think that my hair is made into a wig, next to all these Star Wars monster heads in a warehouse. I thought that was really funny.”

Chicago a contender for Lucas Cultural Arts Museum. George Lucas lives part-time in the city, hometown of wife Mellody Hobson.
Last night, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Maisie Richardson-Sellers, a young Oxford-educated actress, is “in line to nab an undisclosed and possibly major role” in Episode VII.
THR believes that role may be the one described (according to them in January) as a descendent of Obi-wan Kenobi, a report that was met with some skepticism.
Richardson-Sellers recently starred in the play They Will Be Red at the Burton Taylor Studio Theatre.
My, what a hard sell you are doing on your Youtube channel, Star Wars. I’m sure this is not in any way making anyone suspicious about anything.
Tatooine again? The Hollywood Reporter is now claiming a source has told them that “an extensive re-creation of Tatooine” is in the cards for “a Morocco-like environment.”
Given the political situation in Tunisia and the various rumors of other desert locations, there could be some truth to this… Or it’s all just a little old-fashioned misdirection. In any case: Rumor.
