I remember sometime after she’d started Star Wars (but before Closer) seeing a few interviews where she’d mention she was considering giving up acting. I thought it was a bit strange but figured she’d just decided to do other things for whatever reason. As she’d given some great performances pre-Star Wars, it never crossed my mind that people just didn’t want to cast her in things.
