Confirmed: Jason Isaacs is Rebels’ Inquisitor

The inquisitor (Rebels)

Entertainment Weekly confirms that Jason Isaacs is indeed the Rebels’ big bad.

Isaacs is known to genre fans for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, and voicing Admiral Zhao on the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender – which Dave Filoni worked on before leaving for The Clone Wars.

He was originally rumored for the role by TFN.

  1. Brilliant choice! And yet another actor who could easily play his part in a live-action version. Yes, I still believe that Rebels will end up in a live-action environment. Okay, maybe not all the Rebels, but at least some of them. :)
BTW: I’m still not entirely giddy when it comes to Rebels, but I’m looking forward to being wowed. :)

  2. I’m trying to remember if there was any credence to those ‘trio of inquisitors in ep. VII’ or not and that whole hooded actor/actress walking around the set. Did those get brushed off like so many of the other rumors floating around these days? Because, if not, Isaacs showing up in Ep. VII would be very, very neat.

    1. There were denials and take-backs and who the hell knows. Still pretty much up in the air, IMO.

  3. Gotcha. Well, if nothing else it will populate my fanboy dreams…

    1. It is SUPER curious for that rumor that they’re out and out calling the Inquisitor a ‘Jedi Hunter,’ though. Super curious.
