New Clone Wars trailer actually kind of awesome

June 11th, 2008 by Dunc · 9 Comments

I’m having a hard time buying into The Clone Wars hype, but the new trailer is really, really good and gives the ladies a good chunk of screentime. (You even see Padme for a second.)

Also, Christopher Lee! There’s nothing quite like the real thing…

I’m so burnt out that I wasn’t even going to see the trailer. But since you spoke highly of it, and I know you’re not much for the prequels, I went ahead and gave in (to the dark side?). It really is kinda awesome. I hope I’m not feeling so blah about SW when it comes out.

I’m typically a total pushover with anything SW-related, so I was already pretty psyched about The Clone Wars, but I agree, this trailer (along with the very cool McQuarrie connections mentioned earlier) gave me hope that it will truly do this legendary but underexposed conflict justice.

And while I still think the Jabba tie-in is a little tough to swallow, I’m actually sort of excited to see how it might cast ROTJ in a new light.

But why, why, why do just a handful of people and planets determine so much of the course of GFFA history??? It’s like Lost. I guess we can go ahead and blame the will of the Force or something…

Boba Fett actually made a good point about that in Revelation.

Oh, and yes. the authentic voices are a great touch. Ian McDiarmid would be icing on the cake. ;)

I wonder if these guys will do work on the TV series too, or if that’s too much to ask…

Just watched the fourth (I think) episode of the series. Some of the best SW stuff I’ve ever seen. :)

Now that’s cool. I’m starting to get excited about this.

Still having a hard time seeing a WB logo on a Star Wars product, though….

On the other hand, many of my favorite animations of the past 20 years have come from WB… Batman (90′s version), Animaniacs, PowerPuff Girls, etc. So I don’t see it as a stumbling block to overcome.

I saw a scene from the film at Star Wars weekends, and it was entertaining to watch, lots of good action. However, the soundtrack for the movie (at least in that scene they showed) was awful.
