Now that Rick has confirmed the presence of Boba Fett, IGN lists ten established characters they’d like to see on the live-action TV show. Several EU characters are on it – including the top two. Who do you want to see make an appearance?

I think the list is very solid, though Quinlan Vos and Dash Rendar seem a little random to me. of that list I’m most hoping for Mara Jade and Mon Mothma to appear.
Here’s a bit of my own wishful thinking: Lando Calrissian. Major canon character, yes, but only to a certain degree. He takes second chair to Han, Leia, and Luke, and his background is an open book. And since Leia and Bail were supposed to be integral to the Rebellion and part of the Senate, I actually don’t think either can be completely ignored.
I really hope we get some canon characters cameos, at least.

Vos, if nothing else, is hugely popular for an EU character… Dash, not so much. But some folks seem to get all nostalgic about SOTE for reasons I can’t fathom.

Ah, okay. I knew Vos had a following on LJ, but I wasn’t sure how fandom-wide his popularity was, as I never paid him much attention. If he is that popular, then I understand why they put him on the list. I guess Dash is more related to the SOTE fans, then.
Oh, now I’m reminded of more EU characters. What about the X-Wing pilots from that Rogue Squadron? They were immensely popular, too. I’m sure people would love to see them. And Kyle Katarn.

Yeah, Kyle is one I can kind of understand, because the games are also huge among general fandom. (KOTOR characters have been topping Hasbro polls and such.)
Pilots will be popular with this crowd. ;)

This is a tough one for me since I don’t have a lot of faith in George or Rick any more. The top of my list would be Talon Karrde but I’m terrified by what they’d do to the character.

Most of what I know about Vos is that a certain Darksider I know likes to slash him with Obi-Wan. And he has awesome hair/tentacles/prehensile dreadlocks. And a great sneer.
I vote for Mara, of course, and several other Zahn characters — I’d like to see Captain Pellaeon, for one. It’s been so long since I read the books that I can’t remember most of my favorites.

I’d love to see a young Han Solo. He should already be a live by the end of RotS. An orphaned Corellian boy getting more street smart…Han never talked much about his childhood, so lots of unwritten stuff to fill in.
Mara and Thrawn are definitely up high on my wish list.
I think Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar would make a lot of sense. So would Bail…he’d give us that connection to Leia and Alderaan.
Actually, I think I’d like to have Alderaan the planet on a fair bit.
You know, I don’t think I’ve even heard of Vos until today. Dang, I feel out of the loop.

Given the apparent bounty hunter bent to this thing, I’m concerned that we won’t get much about the Rebellion. But I would love to see some of the early leaders; especially Mon Mothma.
Outside of that? I could do with some of the Zahn characters coming in. Mara, Thrawn, Pellaeon.
But mostly? I want to see what new characters can be created. I want new people with new histories to learn about. It will help to avoid the interminable fan whining that ensues when a character doesn’t meet the expectations drawn up in everyone’s minds. (All different, of course.)
