  1. Got my copy this morning, and everything about the release seems very nice. I’m very much looking forward to starting it tonight. It’s been forever since I read this thing.

  2. The dedication in question: http://yfrog.com/j2t5qdyj

I dunno why, but opening the book and seeing that really made me choke up. Perhaps it’s cause I talked with Tim so much at D*C this weekend and you can really get a taste of how much he enjoys writing Star Wars. And hearing his stories about how he got the contract, and how nobody even thought the books would sell well enough to make more, makes you wonder “what if?”

I’ve often said that I became a Star Wars fan because of Luke Skywalker, but stayed a fan because of Mara Jade. If the Thrawn Trilogy wasn’t around at the time I was just getting into the Saga, who knows if I would have ever become such a huge fan.

I often get hyperbolic about how much Star Wars means to me, but these books have definitely been a huge part of my life for 19 years now. I grew up with them, and we’ve both had our ups and downs. But in the end, I’m grateful for the Expanded Universe, and especially Tim for jump-starting it.

Aaaaand that was a really long comment. I should get off the internet and go read some more. :)
