FOTJ: Ascension pushed back a week; Del Rey wants your input on The Old Republic era books

Del Rey announced today on Facebook that Fate of the Jedi: Ascension by Christie Golden will have its release date pushed back from August 16 to August 23. (Our book release schedule has been updated.) Don’t forget that the next FOTJ novel, Aaron Allston’s Conviction, comes out on May 24!

Also, their reader poll this week gives a chances for readers to give feedback on continuing The Old Republic era after the third novel, Revan, comes out. Did people read and like Fatal Alliance and Deceived? Get your thoughts in on their Facebook discussion.

  1. Shouldn’t it be “pushed forward”? Surely the future is forwards and the past is backwards.

  2. back and forward can be viewed in terms of their relation to the speaker. i can say something is pushed back when it is moved farther away from me, whether spatially or temporally.

back and backwards aren’t synonyms ;)

  3. The term “backwards” is used here to denote how the release has been delayed and thus, further from its planned publication schedule. In that sense, it has moved backwards relative to the publication process, by a week.

  4. Dang. For a second there I got the release schedule confused and was really glad to know I would have an extra week to spend on all the stuff that came from Amazon today…Alas, I’ll just have to read more. Tragedy. I’m crying on the inside.
