Battlestar Galactica fans have something to be excited about – SyFy has greenlit a 2-hour Galactica prequel entitled Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome from executive producer David Eick. It will feature a young Ensign William Adama during the first Cylon War as he goes on a secret mission. Apparently, his first mission, as shown in flashbacks in Razor webisodes, at the end of the war, really wasn’t his first mission. Will it tie together some elements from Caprica or just lead into BSG? What does “utilizing cutting edge CGI and virtual technology” mean other than not looking like the animated Lord of the Rings trilogy? Does it mean something that Ronald Moore’s name is not on this project? Will it be better or much much better than Battlestar Galactica: The Plan?
What the frak? Is it a BSG prequel or a Caprica sequel?

From what I’ve seen, it looks like Ron is somewhat involved: http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/10/22/syfy-adama-blood-and-chrome/?a_dgi=aolshare_twitter

Well one thing is for certain. I think it will be very difficult to do this justice, and still be ashamed of your SF roots. If there was one major weakness to BSG it was that it eschewed sf whenever possible in lieu of soap opera tropes.
