Cinemax hosting SW events

November 3rd, 2006 by Dunc · 4 Comments

San Francisco Fan Force has details about a Cinemax-sponsored “Join the Jedi” event in Union Square on November 7th. (Because why not vote in costume?)

Similar events are planned in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

I love how, on the post for the LA event, they request that you don’t show up in costume “unless you are part of the officially cleared 501st or RL group.” Who died and made them god?

It’s funny how someone reading that comment is suppose to take it seriously by someone named “Stooge”. Actually, it was Cinemax and Lucasfilm who requested the RL & 501st, since they’ve established a good reputation with them. If I were them, I too would like to portray a good image for the promotion with movie-accurate costumes. Otherwise, it’s just another costume party. Just my two cents.

Well, at least I know better than to double-post.

And thanks for clarifying that the orders came from Cinemax and Lucasfilm… though the link clearly says that the RL made the request, without mentioning of anyone else. Hmmmmm.
