The Force-Cast takes on the latest hot topic with a roundtable comparing sci-fi’s two biggest fish. Joining the usual gang is Rebelscum’s Jovial Jay and former Trek and Wars fan club president Dan Madsen.
On that note, does anyone have any idea why the SciFi Channel isn’t rerunning the hell out of the original series? I was feeling the urge to DVR some TOS last night, and spent about five minutes scrolling through a week’s worth of schedule… And the only Trek I could find was Enterprise. (Poking around online shows some TNG on Friday, but nothing but that and Enterprise through most of June.)
This is why you fail, SciFi. (It’s still SciFi until July 7, by George!) I’ll get my fix – I’m pretty sure the local NBC affiliate runs it at odd hours of the night – but I’m just boggled by SciFi’s lack of action here.

There may be rights issues involved. I’ve heard that CBS has pulled most of the episodes from its website, as well. Maybe they want to build anticipation for the blu-ray release, or something silly like that.

oh dear, I’m scared to listen to that podcast…Jay is in my Star Wars club…someone tell me, if I listen to it, will I want to strangle him next meeting?
The TOS Blu-Rays are out AND it is available to stream from Netflix so perhaps it has something to do with those…and let me tell you, it looks really pretty in the streaming HD, I can’t wait to see it on blu-ray. The movie has reawakened my trek geek…

Yeah, I forgot about the Blu-Ray thing. I still think it’s dumb, though. I want to watch it, but not enough to go buy DVDs. (I don’t have a Blu-Ray player. Or Netflix, for that matter.)
All I want to do is watch it on TV. I am the very definition of an extremely casual Trek fan and I am not going to jump through hoops to watch a 40-year-old TV series that’s been in constant rerun rotation for decades.
