You can rent housing in The Presidio, former army base, current national park, and home to Lucasfilm’s Letterman Digital Arts center. The park doesn’t get government funding, so renting space to businesses (LFL has a 99-year lease) and regular folks (1000 households) in San Francisco’s tough retail market is how they balance the books.
